Today we are launching The Great Blogging Competition for anyone attending the Listening to the Social Entrepreneur event on the 9th October.
Just comment on a post here on the conference blog before the 9th October and your comment will be entered into the competition.
The prize is a silver 4gb iPod nano. Got one already … not to worry if you win the prize you can always give to someone else for Christmas – sorted!
The winning comment will be chosen by the organisers of the conference for being what they consider to be the most interesting and thought-provoking. The prize will be announced and awarded at the conference.
How did you select that prize? Is it appropriate for social entrepreneurs? I can think of three concerns: e-waste (or should that be iWaste?), DRM/TPM/content-lockdown (which aim to stop communities sharing recordings even if allowed by the original copyright licence) and compatibility (does it work with non-Apple systems and software? I’ve not looked into that.).

I think it is the perfect gadget for the social entrepreneur … just think of all those social entrepreneurship, leadership and marketing podcasts you can listen to. If anyone needs some suggestions of good ones to listen to just get in touch I have a whole range of ones I listen to.
As for it contributing to e-waste … I’m sure a creative social entrepreneur will be able to come up with a way to re-use or re-cycle it one it has packed up. Suggestions on a postcard … or should that be blog post?
